An internally funded project

Ratio has developed several "embedded hardware platforms," including the Concert platform. The Concert device is basically a customizable, hand-held portable computer. By adding new software and customizing the hardware (only if necessary), our clients can quickly and easily build entirely new products to accomplish specific tasks. This gives them a big head start in the development process, since they don't have to spend the time or money to develop a new hardware platform. Clients can also use the Concert device as a prototype for testing embedded software while their engineers are building custom hardware. (more more ->)

Concert (continued)

The Concert's design supports most any capability our clients want to provide in their products. It has an IR port, internal radio, large display with pen input, microphone, speaker, and headphone jack.

The Concert platform provides end-users with a spacious - yet thin - portable display that's ideal for pen-based input, viewing text and graphics, and performing task-based applications. The device is capable of handling character recognition, database manipulation, and even video. The Concert's 480 x 320 pixel touchscreen LCD provides generous space to display text and graphics. Best of all, the Concert platform can support portrait or landscape displays, and can flip between the two modes on the fly. (more more ->)

Concert (continued)

The Concert platform is licensable for rapid customization to fit a client's needs.

Ratio can customize the Concert platform to meet your specific needs, including enclosure design and some degree of hardware modification. Using Ratio's embedded software development technology, clients can develop their own custom applications in Windows, then download the software to the customized Concert platform.
